Strange & Fabricated Testimonials . . .

Rich is a human being and a card carrying member of the Sierra Club. I can’t think of anyone who does more bad impressions, especially his John Wayne Variety Show. His versatility to talk during card games is legendary, and his ability to ride a bicycle is something any fledgling circus clown should see.
— Henry David Thoreau
People all around the world have been talking about Rich. I’ve heard them! Or at least they’ve been talking about someone named Rich, I believe. Or perhaps talking about someone to someone else, possibly using the word ‘rich’. Come to think of it, I don’t know that I’ve ever actually heard anyone talking about Rich. I really can’t say. It’s such a confusing world nowadays with the internet and dipping dots and all! But, what a talent! He’s going to be really big someday!
— Carl Reiner
The Prince of Tides is neither about princes nor tides. Discuss amongst yourselves.
— Barbara Streisand
When I first started in this business, there were rocks and things. Then I met Rich. There were bells, on the hills, but I never heard them ringing. No, I never heard them at all, until I met Rich. Sure, you can say hello to your little friend, but you’ll never know why there are so many songs about rainbows. Give Rich a call. Go ahead—make that call.
— Marcel Marceau

My commitment to you

Three distinct steps, following a process and product model, creates the pattern for my work.

  • Listen. Invent. Create.

  • Present. Perform. Reflect.

  • Critique. Refine. Perfect.

When repeated, a spiral of widening horizons opens up, with each cycle building upon the last. Total satisfaction is my only goal, so we lather, rinse, and repeat until work is done.

About Me

MY NAME IS rich

Saturday morning cartoons. Television in the 60’s. That was ground zero for my fascination with voices and the people behind them. Any channel, any character, any voice. What other ten year old idolizes Mel Blanc, June Foray, Daws Butler, and Jonathan Winters? Their creativity and energy—seemingly effortless—fired my imagination and forged a walking, talking, prepubescent goober . . . always trying to perfect the imitation, the timing, the inflection.

My life and journey eventually took me to the front door of the theatre. It was open. I went in. Throughout high school and then on to UCLA and San Jose State, my work in theatre provided the training, education and vision which has carried me through the last forty years of life.

Educator, theatre director, husband, father, grandpa . . . a few of my titles, but all essential building blocks leading me to this—thatsmyvoice!
